[Gilgamesh was already irritable from being yanked here and being forced to wait until he'd calmed down enough not to quite literally flip tables -- and wardrobes, and other heavy objects -- once he was finally released. Him? The King of All, pulled here by some trifling godling without even properly greeting him and according him the necessary ( Read more... )

[Hello, Gilgamesh. Good news, here is Saber. Bad news, it's not your Saber. She just places a finger on her forehead with a disapproving 'tsk'.]

Ye gods, you call yourself "King", yet you carry yourself with the likeness of an infant with a tantrum! Do calm yourself, for your demands shall fall on deaf ears.

For a split second, the downright creepy leer that had been solely directed at the other Saber spreads across his lips]

Ah, Saber...

[Oh dear, and now he's even more cheesed off than before.]

You had best have a good explanation for wearing that face, mongrel.

[Never mind the fact that technically, Saber looks like her rather than the other way around. It's Gil-logic.

And yes, he ignored every single word she said]

There's a lot of us stuck here... getting back might be hard.

I don't know about your treasury. It's probably none of my business but good luck getting it back I guess.

Hmph. The King does not have the same limits as mere mongrels. If these 'gods' see fit to waste my time thus, it is only a matter of time before I find them and reprimand them like errant children.

Excuse me your highness, but I think you're being kind of rude. All of us are trapped here, including you.

Please don't call us all mongrels. Besides, if you were as strong as you said you were you wouldn't be stuck here with us.

Stop acting so arrogant, I don't like that.

[Scoffing] Only for as long as this godling remains hidden from me. I will permit a summoning only so long as there is something of worth in this unspeakably ugly era.

And what does the opinion of a mongrel matter to the King?

These 'gods' were actually around before. Someone I knew talked to one of them, from what I've gathered.

[ she scoffs. ] Not that I'm saying they have proven their status as gods just yet, though.

[Hey now that's actually useful info. He can appreciate that, at least. He's arrogant but not stupid]

That these 'gods' are not the same as those revered by the Heroes from that gods-forsaken frozen land is not surprising. They could not so much as manifest in the real world, but less summon even the weakest of Servants.

[A slight smirk] Their peculiar abilities aside, I remain unconvinced of their godhood.

It's entirely possible that they didn't even bring here with some kind of special powers.

[ thinking up vague and ridiculous theories is Umineko characters' expertise, Ange's got this. ]

It could be they're just scientists that used advanced technology for that purpose. I mean, just look at the way these communication bracelets work, it's obvious they're well-versed with technology.

[The sad thing is that in the Nasuverse, all of this is entirely plausible]

Hmph. Not unlike the poor excuses for magi in this era, simulating what are superstitiously called magical effects.

The King does not make threats, girl. This is a decree.

[Orihime has just managed to do what no one else has yet managed: shut him up for more than a few moments as he simply stares at her like she's lost her mind.]

[Oh lord, another person pissed off. Laurent feel a bit bad for them.]

Might I ask what king are you, sir?

[Normally Gil would just sneer and mock poor Laurent for not immediately recognising him, but he's getting the impression that not everyone here is from even the same planet. Plus, he rendered at least some of the proper respect, so he gets a hint. Admittedly it's also to test who all is even from the same world.]

The First Hero-King of Mankind... even as far as they've fallen in this hideous era.

[A pause]

Although... previously I was summoned as an Archer in the War I had been in the midst of enjoying.

[Laurent is many things, being respectfully if thankfully ones of them.]

That's quite the tittle, and sounds hard to maintain. You must be really powerful.

Archer...you like to fight?

[It's hard to pull off with this jerkass]

I am.

[A small smile]

I've found it's one of the few enjoyable things in this era.
