[ Cordelia's read the letter a thousand times over. She's scanned the network - a bit bored - and knows that this place is the most boring hell dimension she could be sucked into. If there's an opening to be the ruler, count her in, but otherwise, she just really wants to go home. Or not home. Being dead means you can't exactly return home. So, is ( Read more... )

Afterlife? I dunno if we're dead, I don't really see how that would be possible... [Because someone like him dying is a complicated process.]

Freya's supposed t' be a goddess of love, beauty, other things. She rules over th' fields of Fólkvangr. But this place doesn't look much like Fólkvangr an' Baldr sure wasn't what I was expectin' so I suspect things are kinda different from th' stories I know.

[ ... You remind her of Wesley. Score! ] So is Baldr your god? Doesn't quite live up to the hype?

Any clue on why we were sorted under specific gods or is this still a mystery?

[Haaaa! Oh, if there is anyone Denmark is not like, it's Wesley. She'll learn soon enough!]

Nope! Ya could always ask yer patron god, 'r goddess in your case. Th' one I'm livin' with seemed nice.

You too? [ He's asking about thinking that this is the afterlife, but that may not be obvious. ]

[ She misinterprets. ] Being dead? Unfortunately. Can't really recommend it to those of us who apparently belong to the land that I do not.

[ Well. That too. But that's not exactly what he meant. ]

Dead definitely isn't fun. I thought this might be an afterlife, too. It's probably not.

Cordelia?! [ Yeah this is not happening.

Because life is hard.

Really hard.

But at least it's someone she knows. ]

... Wait -- Wait, back up, afterlife -- you're dead? Why are you dead?

Buffy? [ She hasn't seen hide nor hair of her for a while. It's good to know she's, well, Buffy. And alive. Major props to that. ] Well, it's me. One hundred ans ten percent Cordelia Chase. [ Who knows if Angel contacted Buffy while she was in a coma and told her the entire sob story. She feels the need to prove she's her, regardless. ]

It's kind of what happens when a Higher Power hijacks your body and drains your life force.

[ While giving birth to itself. She chooses to leave that part out. ]

[A young looking teen with a mop of dark strawberry-blonde hair and hazel eyes appears to be considering the video in silence for several moments. Odd as Asgard may be, the fact that others wonder about it being the afterlife is even more so. He's curious, really, but for now he opts for a less gloomy remark.

After another few moments, and the faintly audible squeak of a dry-erase pen, he holds up a small whiteboard for her to read. In a bold orange is the following: "I don't think it needs to be teaching, exactly. The letter said for us to flourish, so, I think we just need to be ourselves.

Oh! The library in Odin is HUGE, btw. I'm sure you can find something good there. :)" ]

[ She reads it, and the one thing she picks up - and frowns at - is the acronym. She doesn't know who Colin Farrell is. The disadvantages of being Coma Girl. She states the letters: ] B.T.W.?

[ Clearly this is the most important piece of information. ]

New lingo. Sorry, I'm a bit behind the times.

So, you think these gods just want us to be ourselves? Don't you feel like there's a catch? From my experience, being myself has always lead to someone being offended. [ Pfft. Like Giles, Buffy, Willow, Angel, the list goes on. But, regardless, she feels as though there is the fine print they still need to read. ]

[ Snapping fingers with realization. ] THAT'S what this reminds me of! Pleasantville! I've been trying to figure out why this was familiar.

[ Hello sibling-housemate who isn't quite a housemate, but... whose house is a sibling to min-- oh fuck it. Our districts are next door to one another. ]

If I remember my mythology right then Freya and Freyr were the gods of beauty, fertility, and love. I don't know how helpful Earth mythology will be here, though, seeing as so much is already pretty different. [ Asgard? Nothing like she figured it might have looked like.

There's a pause, then almost as an afterthought-- ] And this isn't the afterlife, or if it is then it's filled with a lot more fictional characters than I thought possible.
