My totally rad Steve Zissou costume:

For senior dress-up day. Especially great because all I needed to buy was some blue ribbon! Inevitably, a grand total of three people actually knew who I was dressing up as, but eh. There can be no doubt: I am a dork of the highest degree. But: on with the pictures!

About the nerdiest thing I've ever seen in my life. :)

Take care, and keep busting them clouds!

That's okay: I am about the nerdiest person I've ever met in my life ;)

And yes, I am a cloudbuster extraordinaire. Order of Merlin First Class. And all that.

Incidentally, how did you come across my humble livejournal? Just curious. (I met one of my best friends because I was searching for a story from The Onion and Google linked me to his blog... ah man, the nerdiness again.)

Get yourself a red cap and a Speedo!

Nerdy can be cool, if done well :) Some of my best friends are total nerds.

You know that song by Kate Bush? "Cloudbusting"? Great stuff.

Um, latest entries thing. Kinda bored so why not?

Enjoy your red cap and speedo, I think I'll be fine in my fedora and trench coat ;)

Oh, and on the off chance that you are foolish enough to *gasp* not have MSN, install it, and add me :)

How could I *not* know "Cloudbusting"? I love Kate Bush. Have you heard Aerial yet?

I'll add you to MSN, but my laptop is currently in repairs so it might be a while. You sure it won't be weird if some day I randomly IM you? "Uhh I'm that girl...dressed up like Zissou once..."

Ah well.

P.S. If you could choose, would you rather be a ghostbuster or a cloudbuster?

Thanks darling -- I am rather insanely proud of it. The only thing I'm missing is a holster on my leg! That would've been the utmost, eh?

Pretty shmitty. Yeah right.

Haha, yes, it would have. But even as it is... I mean. The shoes and the hat and everything. Wheeee.

*tuts* Yes, you are.

Ahhh, we might actually own The Life Aquatic, but that might be one of the movies my mother deemed 'inappropriate for her sixteen year old daughter to watch'. (eye roll)

I'm really wondering if I'll be allowed to watch any R-rated movie when I am the appropriate seventeen years of age ... (sigh)

Heh, oh man. My parents are pretty lenient about that kind of thing... Though I remember on my 17th birthday the first thing I said to my dad was, "Okay, now I'm going to go out and watch some NC-17 movies!" He sorta rolled his eyes at me.

But yeah, definitely try to watch it eventually.

Heh, he's from the movie "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou," a Wes Anderson film (the guy who made "Rushmore" and "The Royal Tenenbaums"). The Life Aquatic is actually one of the funniest movies I've ever seen -- you should watch it.

And the clothes in it were, needless to say, insanely great. Case in point:
