I know everybody says this, but procrastination is really getting to be a serious issue with me. I didn't used to be like this! Even if it's not on the computer, I'll pick up a book absent-mindedly and then hours later -- whoops. I should be writing. I should be studying for my Spanish oral (AP Spanish is so hard, dammit!). I should be finishing my ( Read more... )

I loooove Kate Bush! She's like some strange angelic alien. And a British strange angelic alien, no less. Have you heard "Aerial" yet? I've listened to it a couple times -- double disc! -- but I haven't yet had the two hours to commit to a serious listening session of just me on the roof with my big headphones and tea. You know?

I haven't heard Charlotte Martin, but I'm a ridiculously obsessive Tori fan -- a Toriphile, even :) Tori is probably the singer nearest and dearest to my heart, the one who makes me think of new things every time I hear a song even for the 50th time... yeah, you could say I like her ;)

(I love you forever, too.)

So if you love Tori, any chance you love Neil Gaiman too? Please please say yes...

Hounds of Love is unbelievable. It just IS, you know? I will certainly check out Charlotte Martin -- even if she weren't anything like Kate or Tori, usually a big reference from a friend is enough to make me have a listen ;) Which is a compliment to you, I suppose ( ... )

I love that you're a Sufjan person too. I'd totally do the same thing if I went to Chicago.

I stepped on gum on the sidewalk today. They sparkle of old gum and leaves. It's charming in it's own way

Ah yes, you're a New Yorker. Lucky, lucky girl. Do you want to go to college in NYC as well or do you want to go somewhere completely different? I'm applying to Columbia and Barnard...

Feels the pain of AP Spanish ...

Lucky me, I had a test in it today, but on the bright side, our only homework is translating a poem. (waves handy, dandy Spanish-English dictionary)

Yeah, my oral was quite painful -- 20 minutes of rapid-fire one-on-one conversation incorporating obscure vocab and tricky grammar...ah, so we'll see how THAT turned out ;)

OMGZ. If you go to NYC, you HAVE to tell me in advance. I can't promise you I can meet you, but I will SOOO totally give you a long list of places you need to visit. *squee*

Wow, I will definitely let you know! I actually go to NYC fairly often (maybe every couple months) because I live near Boston -- not TOO far away -- and I'm always wanting to go visit things that are Happening there, like concerts and museums. And my friend S., of course, just moved there from Oregon for college, so now I can see him too, when I visit!

It would be lovely to meet you, but even if that doesn't work, I could use a list of spots to visit from a real New Yorker! (Did you see a few comments up, Lolaleila is a New Yorker as well, and equally awesome as you. You should bond! -- only half-kidding...)

Love Tess
