This is flawless. I just love how you integrated the mythologies of SPN and HDM, and how good everyone's characterization is. The fact that this takes place in the canonical HDMverse also gives rise to some interesting questions -- like how God is actually dead, and how that effects the dynamics of the angels. It makes so much sense that they would still need human vessels in order to exert any influence on Earth, since their true forms are powerful but incredibly vulnerable.
I love the little details, like how Castiel was one of the angels that rebelled with Lord Asriel. I wonder how that played into his rebellion against Michael and the other Archangels in season 4. Was it more of a coup than a true rebellion? That would certainly make sense in light of Castiel's behavior in season 6.
I'm rambling, but this fic has seriously given me all these thoughts and feelings, and I don't even think I can get them all down without writing a frickin' essay. I guess I'll just sum it up like this: this fic is good and you should feel good.
