Haven't read the comics. Haven't seen the movie. I'm well on my way towards becoming a Crochety Old Lady, and whenever I hear a description like "guy has to fight all of his girlfriend's ex-boyfriends," I automatically strike it off my to-read/to-watch list. Like, I don't have anything against it per se, and I would probably see/read it if someone else really wanted company, but in and of itself I just know that at some point I will be gritting my teeth and growling at the screen/page.

I'd say this is 100% skip in your case: the subcultures of hipsters, Toronto, video games, or small-scene Canadian indie bands have no overlap with your interests. If you've got to watch a movie, I've heard Inception is interesting; if you're looking for comics browse the Vertigo lines.
