God, those are the worst.

I had one the other day where school was getting out for the summer and I had to worry about getting a job.

...then I remembered that I'd been employed for 4 years and haven't been to high school in 10.

But the immediacy of such dreams is really astounding. Occasionally, it takes a few minutes after waking up for reality to finally catch back up with me. (i.e. "No, brain...I _do_ have a job. I was there yesterday, remember? I don't need to find one. Honest!)

Fortunately, I mostly have vivid dreams when I'm oversleeping and need to be up anyway. I'd hate to think how I'd cope if I got stress dreams between midnight and 3 AM. Shaking them off isn't hard, but it's not a great way to wake up.

Is there a shapenote group where you are? I think there is. It may or may not be to your taste, but I love the stuff. I'm pretty sure http://fasola.org/ will have links to local groups. Oh, yes, here it is-- http://fasola.org/singings/

Nothing closer than an hour (metro or driving - in the car I don't have - moving on!). It looks interesting, but there's no reasonable way to get to a meeting.
