I am trying to finish dad's Deep Space Nine DVDs before making a play for his dSLR, but I faded a bit in early season seven. Apparently I saw more late-run DS9 than I thought, or absorbed several episode summaries. So I popped out an episode with a mad Vorta and Another Ferengi Trading Scheme, and popped Babylon 5 S2 in. And when you think about the effects on other syndicated shows of the early nineties, B5 was light years ahead of its time...to say nothing of what they did with those effects. Every time I see a Starfury in flight, a little part of my brain still squees: "It's obeying Newton's Laws!!!"
...speaking of early nineties syndicated SF...does anyone else have a soft-spot in their heart for Time Trax? :P

B5 may have been ahead of its time, but the effects are still incredibly bad.

Some of the effects are bad, but I think think most of them are ok...or at least quite watchable. Spacecraft age better than aliens, as a rule.
And Time Trax was awesome. Criminals from the future were escaping into the present. So they sent a lawman back in time to recapture them. His car alarm/key chain was a gun and he was assisted by an AI named Selma, who fit on a credit card and projected a holographic image of an english victorian librarian. Very early 90s, very cheesy, but I remember it fondly.
