Those silly conservatives

So I'm sure you've all heard about the very odd Top 50 Conservative Songs list that came out a few weeks ago. Reading this list just makes me laugh. But this response (actually the opening of a review of a Dixie Chicks album) made me laugh more:

I hadn't seen this before, but wow.

I am confused by much of this- partly by why committing a crime in a rock song apparently makes you a conservative, but even more so by when appreciating literature became a sign of conservatism.

There are some really good songs on this list, but darn if it ever occured to think of them as conservative.

Well, these are the same sorts who decided that science was somehow "liberal," so nothing really surprises or confuses me about the way they choose to ideologically classify stuff anymore.

I'm in awe, I really am. Some of those songs were described as being about the exact opposite of what they were about. It's, like, wow.

Hey, conservatives, you know what? YOU'RE NOT COOL! You are not down with the kids. You are not rock and roll. Get over it already, Jesus.

I'm so pleased they at least had the ability to see that Born in the USA is not a conservative song. They'd be the first.

Well, I hardly think that listing a song by The Cranberries is a good way to show you're down wit da kidz anyway.

(And no, that one wasn't what they say it's about either.)
