What is ascii?

I was bored in LJ-land last week so I had a 'QUESTIONS' post. There was only really one question (so far), but it seemed to spark much discussion, so in the interest of finding the truth ending the rumours my amusement, I thought I'd have a poll...Poll Boys have a Penis, Girls have a Vagina, ascii has a ...

nonstat, poll, amuse, life

I guessed male because of subtle comments you've made regarding my boob shrinkage. An example being:

Unless you're a lesbian.

Which begs the question, given such cues why did you ask to begin with?

Unless you're a lesbian.
I could also be a female who is an 'equal opportunity employer'.

Altho your intense love for Joss Whedon's work makes you suspiciously female, as you're the only "guy" I know who does.

The other two series, might be geared more towards females, but Firefly was more a 'boy-show' (well it was before they started killing them off). Besides, what are boys supposed to watch? 'Stacked'?

Joss Whedon is a man. In case you hadn't noticed, he might not go for obvious 'blaring' features, but the actresses he chooses for roles are certainly never average either. Every Whedon series has that sort of 'Baywatch' twist to it.

Perhaps you know boys which watch such things, but they don't admit to it.

I guess it's an online thing. Fandoms on LJ mostly consist of females for the most part anyway.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with a guy loving or admiring Whedon's work. Not at all. I'm just making the observation that you're the only guy I know online (maybe online is the keyword) who praises EVERYTHING he's done.

I will admit that the guys I know online are more apt to praise Firefly over anything else though.

My love for him ain't hard to explain. ascii_70_85 December 19 2005, 23:13:31 UTC

To split hairs, LJ consists mostly of females (or perhaps it does). Besides the word FAN-DOM urks me. I love Firefly a great deal. But I'm not going to dress up, go to conventions, and learn bad Mandarin with a southern drawl, just as I'm didn't dress up and learn Klingon when I liked Star Trek, ugh {shivers}.

A) as to the nature of this post it's not been establish solidly that I'm a guy. The first two vote were cast 'Girl/Female/Woman/Wirl', but I as I am not fascist and all polls are open forever. People have changed their mindsB) Joss is a cut above, generally his turds are better than other people's 'solidly crafted' stuff ( ... )

In addition, in the 'conduct' section of your terms of service, you mention that "[you're] really nice, except for when [you're] an ass-hole not nice."

http://www.livejournal.com/users/ascii_70_85/292811.html

Linguistically speaking, females don't generally refer to themselves as 'ass-holes.' That's very much a guy epithet. Females tend to refer to themselves as 'bitch' or some such thing.

Maybe I'm just an idiot. Anyway, I'm going to go work out now.

Wow, people actually read the TOS that's nifty... though I did throw a link at you, if I recall correctly, but no matter... good observation! and thanks for bothering!

Despite the clues, I asked because your icon with the long luxurious hair threw me off, as it looked quite feminine.

For all I knew, you could've been a lesbian.

'luxurious' Really? wow thanks! I've gotten comments from girls and guys about it ... It's usually straight and doesn't look that good.

For all I knew, you could've been a lesbian.
For all you know I still could be.

Ok, despite the fact that you have icons with flowers, and if memory serves, you use a strange font, I have now decided to change my vote to male, because I noticed that in your interests you have women listed, but not men, and you don't strike me as homosexual.

So when are you revealing the truth?

ascii_70_85 November 23 2005, 01:13:09 UTC
A) Can I reveal 'the truth'?
It's the intarnets? Who's to say I'm not lying when I tell 'the truth'?

B) There are a bunch of other comments which may offer insights into this issue ... I'll un-screen them after a while.

C) Is the poll not good enough? {smirk}. Do you distrust the collective wisdom of my friends-list?

Thanks for being curious enough to check my interest list, and thanks for commenting.
