((ooc- Can we change the time for this to morning instead of afternoon? It fits better with her interrogation that way))
Daphne was not having very much fun at work today, not that she had fun any other day, either, but today was worse. No, today she had to report to the Ministry to be “interviewed” about the attacks because of her former affiliation with the Death Eaters. She was definitely not looking forward to this in the least. But before she could go do that, she had to work for a few hours. Lovely.
She was restocking shelves like she usually did in the mornings when someone came up to her, asking for help. She turned to look at him, not feeling incredibly helpful this morning. But if she didn’t help him, she would get in trouble and that was the last thing she needed today. Her eyes scanned over the customer, recognizing him as Kevin Entwhistle, a Ravenclaw from school, not someone she was ever very friendly with. Greeeaaaat…
“What kind of book?” she asked coldly, raising her eyebrows at him.
Kevin noted the cold tone of her voice and did his best to ignore it. Besides, had he not met his mother for breakfast that morning before she'd headed to chapel he'd more than likely still be in bed himself. Of course, they hadn't actually met, it was more of a webcam conference breakfast.
"I'm looking for a romance book," he knew that had to sound like a weird request coming from a straight guy. "Not one that's all lovey dovey but real people going through real trials. Nothing based within the Muggle world." He hadn't thought the last part necessary to add in, though there were a few wizarding writers who'd written about cross world romances. For now, that wasn't a story he was interested in.
Entwhistle answered her question with a reply that would normally have sent her into a peal of laughter, but she couldn’t do that now since she was working. But, honestly, a ROMANCE novel?! It was ridiculous that he was even asking for help, especially from a former classmate and Slytherin. Not to mention a Queen of Gossip. Unless of course she had missed something and he was gay. Or he was just incredibly think and honestly couldn’t recognize her from school, she hadn’t changed that much

His year in America had pushed many of his old school mates out of his mind. While absence made the heart grow fonder when you thought of someone daily, it could make the mind forgetful of those you chose to mentally ignore. Then again, Kevin hadn't paid that much attention to those who weren't in his own house. He'd only known Malfoy, Parkinson, Potter, Granger, and Weasley by sight, Quidditch, and rumor. Not that he wasted his time listening to such, but there were times he couldn't help but overhear the conversations of others. Still, had he known what this woman was thinking, Kevin would have easily voiced that he was looking for a gift. Not that he was a phobe at all, he just didn't have any inklings of the kind and wanted no one to associate him as such
