Had you ever wondered how old BBC's John Watson is?

I have been going though my Sherlock screen captures for icon purposes and have discovered a cannon age for John Watson, In the newspaper article Irene is reading John is quoted as 37. I'm not sure if this is old news or of any interest, but there you have it. Shame Sherlocks age is not quoted too.

Wow. I didn't think Watson was that old. I knew he was always a bit older than Holmes, but 37? And that would make Holmes 30-ish?

I've heard somewhere Sherlock is supposed to be around 33?

I imagined him that age! I am now mentally comparing him and Sherlock with people of other similar ages - like the Peep Show boys.

I had John pegged at about 35 and Sherlock around 30 in my head cannon. Not to big an age gap but enough that Sherlock might add a tiny bit more weight to Johns opinions.
