Jul 27, 2009 20:41

Internet was down the whole day yesterday. BAH.

Anyways... Hayao Miyazaki was so amazing and down-to-earth at the symposium! ♥ I wasn't happy with the host though cuz he didn't transition questions/answers well and he got caught on with his own questions during the audience Q&A last half >_> But Miyazaki himself was SO AWESOME. Whenever we clapped ( Read more... )

...FRONT ROW. Wow.... so happy for you!! Haha I bought the tickets online at Paris... thank you for computer labs 8D;

Ah, I didn't mean to sound like I was blaming the translator! Sorry.. I was more wary on the questions that were asked by the host... cuz IMO he didn't really present them clear enough, especially how lots of them weren't worded as questions... And what's with filling up the audience Q&A half with his own questions DX?

Sorry for the rant... haha... But uhm, I was wondering if you remember what Miyazaki-san said after saying men and women have differen roles in each film. ^^; He said something about Sousuke keeping promise, about heroic act not always appreciated... I wasn't able to connect. Thankies! *tackles*

It certainly is! That man is so dedicated! He flew from Comic-Con the day before and then Berkeley~
Yeah 8D!! It makes Totoro that much more amusing now. Though, the question was about the unique creatures he created... forgot how it transitioned to that answer lol.

OH MAN, I wish I could've been there!! He sounds like an amazing man. (Loved the bits about the female characters/animators and traditional animating; mmm relevant to my interests ^_^) Thanks for sharing the notes!

He was so sweet and humble! And I totally agree that his answers were awesome. There can never be enough role-models out there dedicated to keep and make quality traditional animation! So great to hear the industry's female animators are growing *_* which makes me wonder what's the ratio for our program haha..

Indeed!! I found it amazing that storyboard artist and director are basically one in Japan... it's like needing to be both writer and artist at the same time @D@; Intense!
