The Audi Driving Experience

Yesterday was perhaps the most fun day of my life to date.  Since Scott (my coworker and fellow car aficionado) and I drove the new Hyundai Genesis last month, we've been on the lookout for other ride-and-drive events.  The one we went to yesterday completely takes the cake: The Audi Driving Experience.

LITERALLY pedal to the metal? I must confess I sometimes daydream about what that must feel like. Can you describe it?

Also, how did you scrape your knees? You didn't fall out of the car I assume!

Honestly, I don't know if I can describe it. I got such an adrenaline rush that I felt like jello, but I don't know if that was from the sudden acceleration or from the sudden deceleration. Maybe both.

The knee-banging incident was when I was in the back seat of the Mercedes. They put us three to a car, so Scott and I ended up with some random Asian dude who drove like he had something to prove. He lost control of the car and we were swerving over from one side of the pavement to the other. I had my seatbelt on, but even so, I got slammed into the seatback in front of me (it was hard plastic...not what I'd expect from a Mercedes). Scott was gripping the door sill so hard that it left a welt. The Asian guy didn't get to drive again after that.
