I made a number of minor tweaks to the
Drag Show program since its
Christmas Eve release, but the most significant change is on the Add/Edit Text Label screen. There is a new check box labeled "Words are Separate Units". Previously, if you wanted to have several different text objects (in the exact same style) you had to define each one separately. Now, Drag Show can automatically break up the text you enter into separately movable objects wherever a space occurs in the text.
Remember the
original example of the dragme class that I gave, where you could re-arrange individual letters? To do that here, all you have to do is put a space between each letter, and click on the "Words are Separate Units" check box. If you enter "D O C T O R W H O" into the text field and click the "Words are Separate Units" check box, you can rearrange the letters to spell "TORCHWOOD". It's great for finding or demonstrating anagrams.
Another way you can use multiple movable text objects, each one an individual word, is to simulate those
refrigerator magnets that you move around to form different phrases and sentences. The "Words are Separate Units" check box will let you make these a lot quicker and easier than if you had to individually create a text label for each and every individual word. Just set the text color to black, the background to white, and enable a thin, black border, and you'll have the proper "refrigerator word magnet" look - You'll just have to
google "refrigerator" to find a proper background picture for your virtual magnets to move around on.
