FYI - Using Styles To Change Default User Tag Icons

Mrs. Spock's livejournal… There is a method of getting LJ to replace the standard ID tag icons () with a different image using LJ's Styles. (I know this is something people have asked about in the past.)
Unfortunately, although I can view her page source and see the code that carries this out, I don't know how you'd go about setting this up in your own journal. I don't do styles … but I know that many of you do.
