I darkened my family church's door for the first time in years yesterday, for my youngest cousin's christening. Miraculously, I did not, in fact, burst into flames crossing the threshold.

his demonic brother Achilles (I swear he's secretly a Damian) did his best to set the church on fire during the service.

Hee! Breaker of men, sacker of cities...if you name these children after certain individuals, you have to expect them to live up to their names!

My nephew, of course, being an Alexander, *brags*, is clearly the best and smartest almost-two-year-old alive. Not that he's named after anyone, because I would be shocked if his mother has more than the vaguest idea of who Alexander was, but I call him Alexander Magnus anyway.

Yes, but I am deliberately mixing Greek and Latin. Kind of like Victoria Athena. Besides, Magnus is a bona fide personal name that I happen to like better than his given middle name.
