I'm going to admit something. When I first heard of The Master and the Margarita on ohnotheydidnt I thought the book was about the drink! I swear I can be so dense sometimes. I think the post was about DanRad's five favorite books.

The Man Who Was Sherlock Holmes sounds fun. I never read any of the Sherlock Holmes books myself, but I do quite like "literary fanfiction". I've been reading books that are sequels to Pride and Prejudice. I quite like them and I think they've sort of rubbed off on my writing style. But I think that's my love of Austen too. Next on my list to read from her is Sense and Sensibility for school!

Hahaha, me too! I was like, "soooo ... it's a book about drinking??", but then I realized, she's a person. You're not the only one being dense, is what I'm saying. :D

Sometimes they're fun, and sometimes they aren't. I think it really depends. Has the author some understanding of the source material, but is capable of carrying a plot independent from it? Personally, I'm really into crime mystery literary fanfiction. Love the Oscar Wilde Murder Mystery series, it just makes me really happy. :'D
