I agree about Tudyk. I was always half in love with the character of Wash, but that was just the character. Now I'm just damn impressed with Tudyk, period.
I was also impressed at how well Gjokaj mimicked Mr. Dominick's mannerisms. It was kinda eerie, honestly!
OH-- and as far as my theory goes, we are told that next week, "one doll will be permanently deactivated" (oh god I hope it's not Victor, pleasepleaseplease be Mellie instead) "while another's shocking past is revealed." Dr Saunders = Whiskey would be a pretty shocking past, IMO.
I never saw I Robot. It looked like Yet Another Terrible Will Smith Blockbuster, so I didn't bother. I didn't know Tudyk was in it, though :) I may have to Netflix it now.
I don't think Boyd is a doll. I think he decided to work there with the mindset that if the dollhouse was going to operate regardless, he might as well do some good there by trying to protect the dolls as best he can.
He probably also has some shady secret that either a) keeps him there or b) keeps him from getting otherwise decent employment.
Oh, I don't really think he's a doll either, I was just still in the mood for wild speculations :) I love the character of Boyd, because he's probably the only really "good" guy there is on the whole show. Even the FBI agent is just motivated by sexual obsession and his own screwed up emotional problems. I like the idea that Echo actually trusts Boyd because she instinctually knows he's a good guy, rather than because of the handler imprint (which didn't work with the new guy, so it can't be that effective).
Also-- "otherwise decent employment"? I'm sure the Dollhouse puts enough zeroes on Boyd's paycheck that *I* at least think it's more than decent :)
I wondered about that conversation, and the doctor being a doll was the first thing that occurred to me too. Then it segued into the thought that if the doctor could be a doll, is there any reason the others there couldn't be? Dolls programmed to manage other dolls.
I missed the "Whiskey" mention though. That is interesting.
Well, based on their reactions to the drug in "Echoes" we know Topher, Adelle, and the body of Mr. Dominic were not dolls.
I get the impression that, if Saunders is a doll, she wasn't intended to be perma-printed as a doctor, but rather that it was a result of Alpha's attack.

Then again, Boyd is totally unaffected by the drug, too... but I've got nothin' to indicate that he might be a doll :)
