Sleepy Hollow. The show that made me forget my Merlin fixation bitterness and start believing in good production teams once again. Why is that you ask? Well... it pushes a lot on buttons on me.
Ditto to everything you say, I could not agree any more :)
How refreshing is it to see some GOOD television? After last year when it looked like things where going off the rails for TV, We had Merlin going from bad to worse, (and breaking our souls in the process) patchy Dr Who episodes and other shows just getting tired. There was laziness everywhere. No imagination, no innovativeness. Networks just greenlighting the same-old same-old, boring stuff.
There where no lights on the horizon and now look!!! Did anybody realise that Sleepy Hollow would be the success that it is? From the get-go too. (you don't have people whining here that viewers need to give the show a chance, one episode and we were hooked!)
They've got stories and characters that are MOVING, we are learning more about them every episode, and they in turn are learning as well. No treading on water, no dreaded re-set buttons. Viewers are intelligent creatures, and can remember things from one episode to the next. Lesson's I learnt from Merlin - Show-runners
