It did kind of catch me off guard. I guess I'll see how it goes, or even if I can keep it up. I wouldn't mind losing a couple pounds, But you're right, I don't think I'm at any health risk at my current weight.

How can his wife be as tall as you and weigh as much as you and it be fine for her and not for you? That makes no sense whatsoever. That was way harsh of the Doctor to say that to you. I'm way underweight for my height and no Doctor has ever said anything to me and I went to some of the best in my area. Really, before you go on a diet extreme I would get a second or even third opinion by another Doctor(s)...my Aunt (who works in the medical field) has always told me if a Doctor tells you something like I suggest you get surgery, or you need to lose/gain weight to get a few more opinions because some Doctors don't have a clue what they are talking about.

If you want next time I talk to my Aunt I can ask her what she thinks about that weight associated with that height.

yes, if you could ask your aunt. I don't want to be model thin, but not be perceived as obese.

I'm not a doctor (obviously LOL) but to compare a patient to one's wife is a bit inappropriate.

You're only a few inches shorter than I am... please don't make too much of a fuss about your weight, dear.

Thanks for the advice :). I guess I was a bit shocked into being overly self-conscious about my weight, after the comment.
