Sorry you've had such a rotten week (plus)! Here's the part I don't get. We had a gas leak in our front yard last year. The gas company was completely responsible for all the fixing needed. They brought all their own equipment and, no I didn't look it up, but what your plumber did sounds really similar to what our gas guys did. And though they broke our sprinkler system in three places, they paid for that to be fixed too. So what's the deal with your gas company??? They must have a good in with some politician there to make YOU pay for their leak!

We will miss you a lot! But maybe you won't miss being there so much, because Jen is letting me cook a meal... :-)

YOU probably had insurance on your account. I didn't even know such a thing existed. Had I know, we would've had it and wouldn't have paid a dime either.

And I can personally vouch for your culinary skills - I ate a meal you made and didn't die! :D In fact, I quite enjoyed it.

As far as I know, we have no insurance on our account. Mark thinks it is a matter of who owns the gas pipes - you or the company. Apparently the company owns ours, therefore they fixed them. He continues in this line of thought by speculating that our gas prices are higher than yours because of the extra maintenance our gas company has to plan for. True? Couldn't tell ya.

And thanks for the cooking compliment... :)

Okay, this situation sucks. I went through something vaguely similar with our water last year. It didn't involve any communal showering or killer keds, but it was otherwise similar.

However, you slew me with this post. I had to read said bit about the Killer Keds out loud, to explain to the other people in the room while I was chortling out loud.

Yay, at least you got back your $50!

Damn SKIPPY they refunded the turn-on fee! Jerkwads.

Pneumatic Mole will be the name of my next band.

I'm glad this all got straightened out and that you now have a gas meter outside your house so those morons can't do this again. I mean, surely they can figure out some other asinine thing to do, but not *this exact thing* again.

Their ways are mysterious and myriad in their evil. I will be vigilant, though, and thwart them before they can cause any greater harm.

Fuckers. :)
