Up Yours, Kroger Co.

Fuck Kroger, after throwing up, coughing all day long, and nearly six hours of rest, I'm using a second fucking sick day. I can barely even stand up. Not to mention I can't even tell you how illegal to have someone visibly sick and coughing in a department that deals with fresh meat and blades.

I had a friend in food services who got a bloody nose once while working on food, and they didn't send him home. Also, when I worked at Ross and got sick and was throwing up at work (while I was cashiering) they told I could "make it through." The workplace is the enemy of poor health.

It's not illegal to ask a worker to keep working, no matter how sick they are, if not working with food.

Unethical, maybe, but not illegal.

I wasn't saying it's illegal, just that it's shitty.

yeah, and the fucked up thing about food service is when you try to call in sick (be it with the flu or whatever) they tell you you have to come in regardless. at starbucks, they make you cover your own shift, and if you can't, you have to come in, and if they (your replacement) don't come in, you get in trouble.
that's the f'd up thing about food service, they're all that way. people came in puking.
