So they can break some records instead of just tying them.

They also broke the record for most home-runs in a single season, were the only team of the live-ball era and five-man rotation to use the same five pitchers all year long, shattered attendance records in 1997-2003, had a man, gee, I don't know, break the 80 year-old record for hits in a single season.

And even though they did tie the Major League record for the 1906 Cubs, it broke the previous record of 114 in the American League held by the Yankees.

So they have in fact, broken some other things besides their fans spirits.

How are those Rangers and Astros? =P

Why don't we just get right down to it and count hall-of-famers, no?

How many hall-of-famers do the Mariners have? And how many of those didn't also play for the Rangers?

Gaylord Perry? :X

Listing Nolan Ryan totally isn't fair. (But doesn't he also historically lead all pitchers in losses and walks too?)

But did he ever bring a World Series Trophy home?

He's in mine, Padrick. Don't be silly. He's still one of the best pitchers ever despite his definite lack of finesse.
