Nobody seems to be using the f-word (I mean "final")...

when it comes to calling the upcoming episode 24 of Kuroshitsuji anime. However, at two separate places (both site in Japanese), I see them use the word "climax" to refer to episode 24. One was a staff blog at Square's G-Fantasy magazine and the other was the official Aniplex site. Here's their webzine for this month. Judging from how little space ( Read more... )

I'm feeling ambivalent for tomorrow... I want to see the episode, but at the same time I'm afraid it might be the last episode. (I know my curiosity always wins over anxiety though. XD)

I feel weird for not feeling as sad about this as everyone else seems to! I mean, I'll miss having new gothic craziness every week--but I've gotten so used to my anime series having 13-episode seasons that I was extremely surprised that Kuroshitsuji got 24 all at once, and didn't even do a split season. It feels like I already had my 'please let them keep going' wishes answered back in December.

Even if they wanted to do another season, they'd have to wait a long time to have enough material to partially base it on, wouldn't they?

Exactly. G-Fantasy being a monthly magazine, chapters don't come out fast enough. Not like those weekly mags with stories that run and run and run... Even the manga seems to be getting back to the people from the fateful night three years ago(just judging from ch. 31), making me suspect that it's more than half way through... (And guessing also from the fact her last manga was only one volume long...XD)

I suspected this being a short series when midway through they mentioned something about a special about the "first half".

I've been noticing the short (13 or 24~26 ep.) series more and more these days.

Yeah, depending how this "final" episode goes...they may have passed the point of no return.

And they laid the story out by introducing the character of Angela early... like ep 7. And kept sprinkling her little appearances here and there througout. It would make perfect sense if they come to a showdown and end it there.

Can't wait for tomorrow!!! XD

I really do hope it ends or something. I just think if Ciel lived through getting shot in the chest it would way too marysue for me to like it. Kind of like how they continued Death Note after L died.

After ep. 23, it has gotten to the point of no return with Ciel wounded. So, yeah, I agree with you.
