I'm getting started with my next drawing. It's going to be of Madam Red! I was just reference-shopping by watching the Jack the Ripper arc in the anime and realized that the end of Episode 6 is my favorite. I agree, episodes 5 & 6 are definitely some of the best-directed episodes of the series.

Yes, the animation design, sound/music, and of course, the story line, all work beautifully in those episodes. And Sebastian vs Grell scene was very entertaining, too.

It was kind of funny how I watched the end of ep 6 like 4 times just now. Each time, the transition to the ending theme was ... so wrong... such a jarring "cut!" to the happy, energetic, and loud song. The mood was completely destroyed!! XD I wish they could've played "Lacrimosa" instead for that particular episode. :D

Eee! I love Madame Red--beautiful as eps. 5 and 6 were, part of the reason I wished the anime had been paced a little more slowly was so her sad ending would have been delayed a little. She doesn't get enough love in the fandom, so I'm thrilled to see you picked her out of your surfeit of ideas. :D

You have to love a series that remembers that some people like to see cool, sexy, intelligent women in addition to the standard fangirl-bait.

I saw! Well done, you certainly deserve a cookie for that deduction. *g* (I kind of hope s/he doesn't do the multi-voiced speaking again, though; that creeps me out quite a bit.)

I'm almost wishing I hadn't watched it right away, because how am I going to wait another week?!
