Kid's Fund Raiser

They call it Rock-a-thon.  All they do is that they put kids in the gym with a rocking chair for each, with TVs, video games, radios, snacks, drinks, blankets, and pillows, etc., and let them play all day from 10 AM to 5 PM today.  As I dropped my daughter off at the middle school, the gym looks like an emergency evacuation shelter.  It was utter ( Read more... )

And don't forget that while the price was going up, the size of those cookies was going down.

It's funny. They all say "Girlscout exclusive" but you can find thin mints anywhere. They're called "Grasshoppers" and they're made by the little Keebler elves. 8D

Oh, I used to sell girlscout cookies some 20 years ago. I remember. They used to be huge with MANY cookies in the box. Now they're all "Here's your 10 cookies in that three dollar and seventy five cent box." Eff that.

My daughter was a Girl Scout until 3 years ago. So many people bought the overpriced cookies, but man, I have to admit it felt like I was ripping people off.

Some moms and dads sold over one thousand boxes per season (mostly by appealing to the people of their church)! I don't miss their annual fund raiser at all.
