I had the feeling I was going to hear from them today, and I did hear back from the folks in charge of the Mugen-uke-only anthology doujin project MugenLoop and they are delighted to get a contribution interest from overseas. Judging from the letter, they're definitely not just politely saying no, but like me, making sure there will be no loose

I was happy, but was a bit surprised that they didn't shoot us down. Although I do get the feeling if the question was sent in English, we may never have heard back from them... XD

Laura and I have a few sticky points with their "conditions", so we're not officially committed to the project yet, but definitely still in "talks" via e-mail, which, with the time difference, feels like a snail mail.
