Close, but No Cigar!

I was so sure I was going to dream about Jin last night.  And I was feeling so happy that I wouldn't have even minded if Mugen made a surprise guest appearance.  Well, this dream was close (Yes, Jin was in it, however very briefly...), but definitely NO cigar, I tell you.

What a great dream! You're lucky. I've only had one dream of Jin, but it was the dream that got me passionate about him and writing, so I suppose it was a good one. :D

Did you base one of your fabulous stories on your dream? If so, tell me which one!!!

Oh no, nothing like that. I saw the first episode of the series and loved how Jin was drawn, but it was so violent (I still can't watch Mugen breaking that guy's fingers) I wasn't inspired to watch more.

A week or so later I had a dream of seeing Jin sitting on the floor, alone in a room. I came close enough to breathe in his scent and feel the warmth of his body, intending to go down on him. I never did, unfortunately. But I woke up with a very tangible physical and emotional sense of him and I was hooked.

At the time, in 2005, a lot of fanfic turned him into a weeping uke, which horrified me. I wrote The Morning Ritual in response to all that and the rest is history, as they say.

Am I glad you had that inspiration... *smile*

I've come to realize that although there are a lot of highly intelligent champloo fans out there, like anywhere in life, there are plenty of idiots who only see things in a shallow way. Jin looks pretty so they turn him into the "weeping uke" as you say. Like I said before, I like your analysis of Jin and Mugen so much better. Your writing is right up at the level of Kitamura Koume's doujin, IMO.

You know, what was a little funny this morning was, when I was translating "Tsukimachigumo", I noticed that there were a few Japanese words that I coudln't possibly imagine Mugen actually uttering in real life. ("Oh, where did he go to college at?" Haha.)

LOL Poor Yukimaru! All he wants is some Jin!love! hahahaha I enjoyed this! Do you by any chance shoot a bow? Or was it just in your dream? lol I have several bows, but nothing beats a long bow and the simplicity and sleekness of it! XD

I know there are people in SC fandom who just adore Yukimaru, but I, for one, don't like him at all. His type rubs my nerves the wrong way. XD

I thought about joining the kyuudo club way back in high school, but somehow I ended up in the choir for a short time and was unable to make any commitment. So, no I don't. That's cool you have them. Are you any good at shooting?

LOL I never really cared for Yukimaru either. He seemed like a thrown in character simply to give Jin some background... but I think it would have been okay without him. But that might just be me.

I won't say I'm great or anything but I never miss a target ^_^;

I agree. I think the story wouldn't have missed a beat without Yukimaru. I would have liked to see more of the assasin guy (from early on) who swore to Jin "I'm sure we'll meet again" (and didn't) or if Okuru guy survived the fiery fall. They were far more interesting to me than a dojo groupie boy. XD

Hey, I'd say you're far better with bows than I'm with guns then. LOL!
