If you don't mind I'm borrowing this email and reposting it. I'm sick of hearing people say he didn't deserve it. He does have to live up to the honour, though, and he is well aware of that.

I wasn't shocked, just happily surprised.

And I think it will... but what impossible goals are set before him by sooo many different governments. The pressure on him is staggering. I worry about him, and pray for him daily. And that's not to mention the death threats on him daily (I think I read it was about 400+ a day!).

When I was read the BBC news early this morning I can't say I was shocked, it was certainly out of left field.

I'm may be in the minority here, but I think awards should be given for accomplishments--not good intentions. I wish my President well, but I think the Nobel Peace Prize has lost any meaning by awarding it to someone who has accomplished nothing significant at this point--and even less at the time the decision was made.
