Oh, I tell you, it was harrowing! And it didn't get much better for awhile, as it rained every day... Bear didn't get a job until about a week before school started.

It was VERY exhausting!

I like the smell of it, just rediscovering it, actually.

Thanks, Pam! I do a lot of posts in my mind, if you know what I mean. Need to put more of them down on the keyboard!

A British accent will grab my attention every time. Both my mom and I love it!

I notice a distinct difference between people here and the folks back in the mountains where my family is. The folks back there are more friendly, down-to-earth, and....not simple, but not as "sophisticated" as those over this way. I know that sounds funny, but it's the only way I can think to describe it. The folks back on the mountains are not as reserved, maybe that's a better way to put it.

I feel much more at home back in the mountains, and I miss them so much! My desktop picture is of Black Canyon Falls, WV taken by a friend of mine who lives over that way. I love to gaze at it.

I know exactly what you mean! I thought the same thing when we first moved here, that the people here are NOT "simple" or "slow-minded" but not as sophisticated or "processed" as those I'd been accustomed to being around. I prefer it here! It took me a long time to get the "professionalism" out of me, and the hustle-bustle, too. I hope you know what I am meaning, as I am not saying it as derogatory. It's not wrong, just different from what I'm used to. More laid back, like about 50 years ago!

More friendly, more down-to-earth, yes!
