My day...

Jan 06, 2009 18:20

I woke up feeling great, despite having a fasting blood sugar of 229. Then after taking a shower, I was absolutely exhausted, as if I'd been up all night and then some. Took my temperature just before breakfast and it was 100.0 degrees. SOMETHING is definitely wrong! I ate my breakfast and as soon as Ellen, my aide, left, the narcolepsy hit with a ( Read more... )

Sorry to hear about your troubles. It stinks to be sick and the doctors can't figure out what's going on. I just got my bloodwork back and my wbc is high, so is my inflamation. I see the rhuemy on the 23rd, and then we'll see what he can pull out of his hat this time. I have been going to him for over 4 years and we have tried many things, but no luck.
Hope they can figure out what's going on and you feel better. Take care.

I forgot, what is your diagnosis again? I have severe fibromyalgia and severe arthritis (bone on bone) according to my rheumy. I don't have a high wbc or inflammation (sed rate), which drives everyone crazy. I am so sorry that they haven't found the answer for you. I'm glad you're going again, on the 23rd. I'm eager to hear what they say.

I have never been diagnosed with anything other than arther, osteo and rhuematoid. I have had a high wbc for twenty years and no one has ever been able to figure out why. Everything checks out good, except for the inflamation. My sed rate is very high.

Well, now I'm more concerned than ever.

Since your lungs are clear, your WBC is normal, and all your other bloodwork is normal, what is there left? It has to be a virus.

Even so, all your symptoms sound like sinus to me (very similar to what I have when my sinuses are acting up.) Have they done an MRI on your head to be sure none of your sinus cavities are completely blocked? Even so, one would think an infection that bad would raise your WBC, and it didn't.

Wow. No wonder they're all stumped.

I'm still praying they find what it is. You deserve some relief.

*hugs* thank you for your concern and your prayers. I am so tired of being sick. I mean, I have the fibromyalgia and arthritis, and diabetes and lymphedema... not to mention narcolepsy (though I did actually mention it!) and now this mystery illness. Judging from the amount of pain I am in right now, AFTER taking my hydrocodone, it MUST be something in my right sinus. The whole right side of my face is killing me!

Ask at the audiologist's office if they can refer you to a good ear, nose and throat doctor.

There is a good one in the area, but he sent me to UVA in Charlottesville to have my ear checked out a couple of years ago (or 5?). The doc there said I'd always have a perforation and drainage (just like clear mucus from the nose) and if I got it closed up again, it would burst from pressure. I AM goign to make an appointment wtih the ENT doc as he is associated with the audiologist and in the same office.

Good, see if they can fit you in tomorrow when you go to the audiologist.
