And John's gifts were so utterly charming, and that last line was adorable.

I love the gifts, especially:on his lab bench, lemons and oranges that had been thinly sliced and laminated. :-D

And a lovely story with a lot of very well chosen gifts. And I like the last reasoning that exchanging coins equals exchanging rings - and that Rodney finally embraces John!

The exchanging of coins equaling the exchanging of rings was a late inclusion. It needed that final bit of sweetness!
