and John exhales and goes to Rodney and kisses him, hard, because he's never kissed a boy in this house and it's something he wants to do before he goes.

*makes noises of joyful incoherence* That's just... wow. That holds everything, doesn't it? John's family and his unhappiness and finally doing something he wants to.

You and Lim will never not be awesome ♥ ♥

Thank you! That backstory is just...it needs a bit of working, but it's workable, what they gave us. It's surprising, anyway; I'm kind of grateful to be given the new hook after a few years of "John's dad in the military" stories. Also, seriously, artword is the coolest thing ever.

Aa;sdlfaksdfj, can you still star in your own coming of age story if you're 40?? I loved this, and I'm all teary, all those realizations following one after the other, rolling over and over and over themselves. I had my hand pressed to my heart from Now he slumps back into one of the leather armchairs in their suite at the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond and stares at the heavy, snoring lump of Dr. Rodney McKay, Ph.D Ph.D and didn't take it off until I got to the end.

And oh, the vid is so cool-thank goodness for Joe Flanigan's many and varied roles. :D I love love love when wee uncomfortable John in his suit walks into the frame and stays there while all the bits of his life roll on around him, and the amazing amazing stuff you do with the words-I keep watching and seeing new things every time.

John is sort of 40 and sort of 14, though, right? *g* (Though actually, more seriously, the losing a parent thing is kind of where the rubber hits the road on coming of age stories, if you ask me.) And Lim, man: she made something so cool out of the story. S is for Space in so many ways: it's typography and distance and sci-fi and loads of other good things!

It just fit. Truly, it did. I'm not sure if it was from the broken revelation that they had a 'thing', in the infirmary, or from the beginning where they're in the hotel waiting to go meet David, but somewhere in there it just fell into place and 'this is what happened'.

God, and that video Lim put together? I'm never going to not want to watch Lim's work on constant repeat for hours on end. It was great and even though I didn't care much for the song it fit; pretty much like the rest of it. ;D

I'm glad it felt...what, persuasive, I guess. I'm trying to rethink the backstory and the first time they might have, so I'm glad it feels like it FITS what you know and feel.

And lim...seriously. She's so scary-talented. Her visuals are always, always interesting: I love watching her work television footage and draw this sort of meaning out of it!

(ELO...well, you had to be there. *G*)

Thanks so much! We're glad you enjoyed it! (And to say it's one of the most interesting vids you've seen in SGA is a real compliment, SGA being ground ZERO of interesting vids, IMO! I will pass this on to lim! *g*)
