Oh, this was FANTASTIC. It just totally made my morning. THANK YOU. I absolutely love how very Rodney Rodney is in this one. One of the biggest problems I find with AUs is that oftentimes, he's either smoothed down, or he's annoying and Sheppard is always somehow okay with that. But by the time I reached the part where Sheppard said "Really? That's fascinating," I literally cheered. Because you made them jump through hoops, in a totally believable, understated, and real way. I love that. The whole thing read like, yes, a disaster movie, but a good one, not cheesed out, but gritty and real. Your descriptions are perfect and surprising, and just generally, this is so impressive.

And I loved Tony!

And, of course, the fact that Rodney first greeted him with "Mr. May" and even tried calling him that at first was really kind of priceless. Awesome, awesome story. Thank you!

I tried really hard to make the characters believable and real, so it's quite the compliment that you think they work as they are. Especially Tony, as one of the first original characters I ever tried my hand on. :)

Great stuff! I love your Rodney voice and I love the idea of him oggling over Mr May! The lovely character interactions rang true for me and I liked the way it wasn't all sweet and lovey-dovey - there were obstacles in the path.

And lastly I liked all the characters you created, the tension, the suspense and the adventure!

You know, it's a funny coincidence that you wrote a firefighter AU just when rabenkoenigin is writing one, too (for Brokeback Mountain of course) *g*

Anyway, it was a great fic and I enjoyed reading very much! I love the storyflow of this one and the way you connected the title with beginning and ending of the fic. Calendar and all.

I'd say it's the lighting. Unless you have something official? I've never seen them described as another color.
