:( That's very sad. I'm sure his mother is devastated.

That was a great idea to rent your dress. Do many girls at your school do that?

I'm not sure how the family is doing...they're still in Toronto with the father, who's still in hospital but doing all right.

Actually, renting was pretty original, even for a small town like this. :) Most people still run off to expensive shops to buy fancy frilly things, but I found it hard to find something that would fit properly and look nice. My costume ended up being a perfect substitute, and slightly cheaper, too.

Your dress sounds fantastic, I can't wait to see pictures :D

And the story about the boy is very sad. Perhaps you should write an editorial for the local paper about the amulence time, and then maybe some change will happen.

I'm not sure how much that would help- I think the real problem is location. The area in which I live is very rural- there are only two hospitals in the entire county. The nearest one to the airport where the accident occured was approximately 30 minutes away, which means the ambulance was nearly on time...I later also discovered that the boy was killed on impact...they couldn't even move his body until the investigators arrived from Toronto, which is three hours away. :( The plane was wrapped around a tree...it's a horrible image- I wish the news didn't show things like that...
