I got lucky in that we only had a few alarms when I was in my high rise. I was on the 5th floor. But we had open house days where they would give tours (or as I called it, "zoo day" - "oooh, look! college students in their natural environment!"), and they liked to use my dorm as the example for the dorm tour. So on those days all the actual residents were forced to use the stairs because it could take 15 minutes to be able to actually fit in an elevator. That was rather annoying, heh.
I lived on 5th first year- I hated going up the stairs after fire alarms. :X I was *supposed* to be on 5th in this building this year, but I got moved. I guess they wanted me to get more exercise?
ZOO DAY! I'm totally using that when it comes time for campus tours. :D This dorm generally doesn't go up for tours, though, because it's a dump. They use three of the spiffier ones for that.

Firewoman?
And the physical exertion. :X
Though I wouldn't mind the part about hanging out with the other firemen. *whistles innocently*

And the physical exertion won't be a problem after all the running up and down 7 flights of stairs this year....
