With Deathly Hallows coming out on Saturday, I thought I'd make a few predictions/guesses * before * reading the book, and see how close I was afterwards.

First: The trio'll have to go to the continent on their Horcrux Hunt.

I will say though that Ron has always seemed too superficial, fame-seeking, and unsupportive of what Hermione finds important or enjoyable (besides Harry, of course) for the two of them to ever have more than a close-friend-sibling-like relationship.

Yes, dear, but that's because you're thinking logically. If HBP is anything to go by, I don't think JKR shares your opinion.

Still, I imagine that most of my post-DH fics (and the fics from my favorite authors) will include the 'ignoring epilogue' disclaimer, so it doesn't really matter. ;)

I admit, when it comes to fictional relationships at least I tend to think very logically, although I am a bit of a romantic too-so those tend to clash at times.

It also occured to me the other day that up until/around GoF I did ship Ron/Hermione, and JKR had the epilogue written and in a safe for years. My guess is that The story wanted to write itself away from that ship, but since she had already commited to the final chap she had to force it to fit-even though it no longer made much sense.

But that's just my view-since I think just about anybody else would be better for her than Ron. I'll very happily read anything with an 'ignoring epilogue' disclaimer.
