loving the environments dude. Nice ship too. Only 2 crits- lineart is fighting with the painted parts a bit in the last two, and in the painted peices I think the color could modulate a bit more, maybe with some more environmental lighting. That huge window seems like it could be throwing some bluish bouncelight that would do nicely :)
Thanks for the crit! I think you are right, and I'm still trying to figure out how the style is going to work, here. I really love doing the painted stuff so I don't want to drop that, but if I drop the lines I feel like it is all going to take so much longer to do? I don't know! I was sort of modeling the painterly/lineart combo after Phoenix Requiem, though I think I'm getting it too thick for that. I've also been looking at manhua while here (This trip is part of the Sequential program, after all), and they are often painted with an interesting simplified painting style that I am very interested in studying to see how I can apply it to RD. They make extravagant use of color (In some of the martial arts ones it gets to the point where it looks like a raid in an MMO where all you can see are oversaturated spell effects covering the screen), and some nice clean rendering that I plan on doing studies of once I get back. Although if you have any advice for how to resolve such that'd be great!
