back when i made this movie my canon pick, i had two reasons to do so:

1) it was an excuse to rewatch the movie and rethink what i liked about it
2) it had the word Disco in the title

After a lot of deliberating about which way to read this film, I've concluded that what I find most refreshing about it is the utter impotency of the main character. That may be a strange thing to find refreshing, but it feels like some amount of the feelings of inadequacy I so often identify in myself are mixed into the canvas of gorgeous black ( Read more... )
