Interesting start :) Always thought of Dean as more of a cop character and Cas as the nurse-type; intrigued by the role reversal.

Thanks! I disagree though. I think fandom has this habit though of making Castiel way softer than he really is. He's really strong and badass most of the time, I think he's very misunderstood. It's hard for me to see Dean as a cop, as well, but I think that's because he has a big problem with authority. He's a rebel, but meanwhile, Cas is this rough angel soldier, and Dean's the one who opens him up and shows him how to be different

Oh i agree about Cas' personality. But Dean tries to at least appear more macho, so he'd like the hunting side of policework and being able to tale care of victims.
I think that's why it's typically that way, just because cop=hunter and nurse/doctor=angel/savior kind of thing.
Maybe Cas could pull off being a surgeon?

But like I said, really like the change up. Excited for more.

Yeah, but the thing is, to be a nurse, you have to be pretty tough to put up with all the crazy shit you see in there. I mean, especially if you work in the ER. THere's all kinds of crazy shit that goes down, and patients can be really hard to handle. You need to be able to hold them down if somebody goes apeshit.

It's not a traditionally male or macho job, but it is something I can see Dean doing. He wouldn't exactly be so proud of it at times, but I think he just wants to help people. Cop doesn't strike me as a hunter type job. It's a soldier type job if anything. Hunter is sort of the opposite of cop, because you defy the rules and you're kind of more like.. a bounty hunter I guess? You're a protector, sure, but the focus is less on the protecting and more on the sneaking around and killing monsters. I could liken it to an exterminator, I guess? There's a ton of options. There's a better analogy here that I can't quite place my finger on.

Surgeon I think could be really cool.

I agree with your interpretation of Dean. He began raising Sam probably at 4 and he was the center of Dean's world so nursing in my opinion would be a natural outlet for Dean. I enjoy seeing him as a teacher as well. Cas was a soldier for God so that makes him BAMF.

aaaah, thank you! I've already started ch2, it should be done either tomorrow or sometime next week but that's at the earliest. I really have no idea, bc as I've stated elsewhere, I don't usually write? I've gone years without writing anything. But I do plan to finish this, I'm completely determined to finish it. I do not like abandoning things before I finish them.

You're off to a great start and I definitely want to encourage you to keep this going! It's so rare to see Dean in the nurturing role despite his inclination to be a caregiver so I'm excited to see that in action. Hope to see more soon!

Hey, thanks so much! I'm already working on Chapter 2. No idea how long it'll take me to finish it, though, because I don't usually write.

I LOVE seeing this side of Dean, the big brother/mommy type side to him. I always thought he was more like Mary and Sam was more like John. I like that he can be tough but he can be nurturing at the same time. And I love aggressive, brash Cas. So you're definitely going to get to see him kicking major ass in later chapters.
