Please tell me it isn't true- Sushi Bistro can't be closed! Can it? Mats and I arranged to meet there for lunch yesterday at 11:30. Just as I was parking, the cell rang: Mats, in front of the very closed restaurant. Ah. I hope that when I visit you we will hve time for you to teach me one or two tricks of the trade re:embroidering with pearls. I could probably use the "lesson" on my x stitch work. I am falling in love with using beads on x stitch.

The main thing is just to use a very, very fine needle- most pearls seem to be drilled with hots smaller than even the tiniest beads.

I use Nymo beading thread, in a colour to match the fabric not the pearls, and these whisker-thin needles, both available from beading and cross stitch stores... but not always craft shops.

Of course I'd love to show you whatever I know!
