I am starting to strongly consider tramping through South America this winter, instead of moving to Vegas, and then just retreating to NY for a few months when I get back, before settling on somewhere to move. I think all that I really need is for someone to think it is a good idea and offer to go with me.

Gian spent a little over 4 months traveling through south america before I met him. The pictures and stories are incredible. he went with one of his good friends for the first 6 weeks but then traveled on his own the rest of the time. if you want to do it, do it whether or not you have anyone with you! traveling solo is amazing.

when I traveled "alone" in Italy last year, I think I spent a total of 3 days actually alone. it was amazing.

My brother and I were planing to spend most of 2011 in Chile. I think I am just going to bump up my plans. I need to get out of this country for a while, and I have always wanted to go to south america.

I never really got the whole story on this dame, or your move, because I think it was all happening when I was in a wedding-haze. So I never really had an opinion on anything except: "I love Artie, I want him to be happy" and "Vegas is far away". So I am not sure what to say right now, except that I wish you were happier and that you are awesome.

I agree with Tami, and that you shouldn't wait for anyone to take a trip. Maybe go to Argentina if you plan on going to Chile later? I am dying to go to Argentina, Buenos Aires sounds like the coolest city. Anyway, Kate Dunworth (Meghan's sister) traveled South America by herself, so you can too.
