I must admit, I've also been one of those people that says "I got nothing against homosexuals, as long as they don't do anything in front of me," but I've said the same for heterosexuals, doesn't really phase me either way really, I just don't like public shows of affection that can get out of hand, which happen all the time, irrespective of which team your batting for.
Although I've always wondered about what it's like being a homosexual, I've just never found myself being attracted to females really, not even in a sexual way, or any other way :) I've tried to see if I could possibly be attracted to another female, and it just didn't work for me. I don't get the same sort of spark type effect that I get from when I'm attracted to a guy... if that makes any sense.
Although I don't have any experience in homosexuality, my assumption is, is that the emotional and horemonal logistics behind it are no different to that of a heterosexual realtionship...
no, I don't have a pithy response. I usually go with something along the lines of 'Well you're not so hot that you'd need to worry about wanted sexual attention let alone the unwanted stuff, so get over yourself.'
or better yet 'Well I'm one person you don't have to worry about.'
and then there's my favourite 'Mum, I'm bisexual, not incestuous.'
I generally ask them if they try to have sex with women who aren't interested in them. If not, why do they think gay men would try to have sex with them?
If they do, then you can just change the topic and ask them why they have such low respect for women.
