Spent the day wandering around New York. Walked at least 5 miles in the 86 degree heat. All I've got to show for it are bloody holes in my heels

Don't be that jealous, New York isn't quite as much fun when you don't have a home to go back to at any point during the day and you can only wander around the city for hours.
i think you should go to england/scotland. youve got some money saved up from blockbuster. i know that its not even possible, but you should do it anyway. im completely serious.
absolutely! i was planning on telling you i was in the city once i'd found a job and/or an apartment, i figured i wasn't going to have 'hang-out' time until then because i'd be so busy pounding the pavement, but turns out i have plenty of time and would love to grab some pomme frites with you. when's good for you? is sue coming to the city anytime soon?
No, better idea--come to CT! That's where I'm going to be, going into the city periodically to find a job/apt/life. Free board, free food, expensive gas, and a pool! Also, lots of my family milling around.
BeeTeeDoubleyou, you are on the NYU alumni job listserv? Which is like the WORST IDEA, because all the so-called "job opportunities" are like, go fuck yourself unless you already have years and years of professional experience. But you might still want to check it out--you can find the email for the guy on the OCS website (I don't recall it).
What are you trying to get a job in?
Let's do that book. I've been dying to get back on visuals. Once we get our millions that way, everyone else can slobber our knobs for $.05/hr.
yeah, i'm on the alumni listserv. it truly is a waste of time. i also check mandy.com and craigslist every freakin' day.
i'm pretty much looking for an office job. boring, i know, but i want to make lots of money doing as little as possible. no, seriously, it's because i want to meet the 'right people' who can potentially help me become a writer. you know, like a writer who makes money writing, not working in an office.
you really want to do the book? awesome. i'll work on banging out a manuscript. it's going to be a childrens adaptation of my pirate script and once i can figure out the first sentence, i should be well on my way.
Yes, CT is available to you. My mom said she is cool with you staying for several days if you need to rest or do email correspondence or watch loads of tv and eat chips. I wish to do the latter, with physical activity of some sort worked in. I have no idea how to adapt to adult life. Oops.
I'm so sick of trying to meet the "right people," but that's probably the thing to do. When you get published, get me published. Awesome. Anyways.
Um, I don't know if you have my home #...I'll email it to you though, and we can pick you up from the train station whenevs. Andre and I will be back from South Carolina Wednesday next week. We might actually be in the city on Tuesday...mebbe.
Don't let the hopelessness overwhelm you! It's gotten me already. Soldier on!
