Argh, this whole little incident just seems so ridiculous to me--why on earth didn't they just let the girls go to the prom in the first place?! And now this craziness! Nuuuur.

Constance is a lesson in class. She knows she's right, she knows she's got the entire country on her side, she knows that she's getting the hell out of Mississippi . . . and she also has the sweet, sweet satisfaction of knowing that if she just continues to smile and be wonderful, the horrible mean people at her high school will continue to dig themselves deeper into the shit, on a national stage. Not many outcast teenagers get that kind of satisfaction in life.
