I'm really really awful to Zuko a lot of the time, and I'm not sure where that comes from, considering I kind of like him. I really did have a lot of fun writing this, but then again I still kind of felt like the Dai Lee had so much more potential to be really really horrible on the show.

I see Azula being in charge of brainwashing Zuko going either one of two ways - making him into the brother he is SUPPOSED to be (i.e. "honorable" by her standards) or just messing with him. "Today you're a six year old girl!"

And dang it, both of those typos slipped by both me and Josie. That is the result of transcribing it after scribbling it in a notebook while housesitting...

True Story: I had actually considered throwing Mai in there, before I realized how out of control this fic could have spiraled. Mai would not approve of what Azula is thinking. Azula is going to make Zuko into her protege and just have him do awful things and tell him he's all honorable even though he doens't even know he wants it anymore. It was going to be awesome, but huge.

Finally, I always like your writing. :D You're my favorite Avatar fic writer, and definitely in my top ten favorite fic writers overall. I still keep meaning to do fanart for Shadows in the Mind, I just always have a million projects and commissions to work on. D:

AND seriously, my ego can't handle you saying things like that. I get all flaily and embarrassed, but it's appreciated SO MUCH. Even just thinking that my little story would inspire you to draw - whether you not have the time to actually do so - is so very exciting to me.

Speaking of fanart, I don't know how involved you've become or want to become in FMA fandom, but fma_big_bang will eventually be open to

Wow, this is really, really, good. It takes me back to when I first read Tabula Rasa and was totally blown away by how you portrayed the Dai Li. You're right, they could've been total monsters (and also totally awesome), but they weren't, so instead we have great fic like this.

The Dai Lee started OUT that cool, but then I think they just had to tame them down so that the Gaang could actually BEAT them, which was kind of a shame. It's kind of like Legolas' Magic Refilling Quiver Syndrome from LoTR. The good guys gotta win, eh.

This was great fun to write though - I'm really glad you liked it.
