Avatar: Reassembled

Title: Reassembled
Rating: K+
Summary: When they all come together again. Seven reunions in the immediate aftermath of Sozin’s Comet. Mentions of Kataang, Maiko.
A/N: Spoilers for the end of the series, obviously. This originally started out as a little thing to make juxtaposie feel better after losing a fight to a wet tile floor, and just grew from there.

The look on Katara’s face when she saw him was almost enough to make Sokka regret the whole thing... )

The scene with Mai and her uncle was one that came to me, fully formed, very quickly. The fic was originally just going to be Sokka and Katara, and then Mai and her uncle popped into my head and I just had to keep going to see what I could get. I'm glad you liked it - it was fun, trying to remember who'd been separated when and imagining how they'd react to one another. (One scene I'm kinda sad I didn't get to: Bumi and Momo...)

homg I NEEEEED to reread the Pendulum Arc. My interest in Bleach just hasn't been the same since it ended. And wow, that song IS perfect, although that line about looking old will just always always remind me of Aang, no matter what.

Oh WOW, then I DEFINITELY need to catch up on the anime. I haven't watched that in a while but if they've reached Pendulum then I do want to see that.

I pretty much haven't steadily read the manga chapters since... the battle in Karakura over the pillars started? I've been reading spoilers so I'm still caught up plot-wise, but yeah, the endless fighting has worn me down. Bleach is at its most fun when its the characters bouncing off of each other - I mean, my favorite moments in the series are Ichigo and Rukia's "What kind of tyrannical rescue is this?!" fight, and Urahara and Hiyori's "Hey we're going to the Maggot Pit!" "No!" "Let's go!" whole dynamic. The plot itself doesn't really capture my interest! I want the character development damnit!

(Plus, oh my god, I swear I don't hate Orihime, but the endless "KUROSAKI-KUN!"-ing.)

I think Zuko has some significant challenges to work with, once he really gets down to work in the Fire Nation (which is a fic I've been trying and trying and trying to get to work, but I can only wrestle with it so long before other things demand my attention...) but yeah, I definitely didn't want to take attention away from their awesome achievement.

Azula is one of those characters whose fate fits her perfectly, but her life post war is hard for me to pin down - I think Zuko is a bleeding heart and in the end will try to make her comfortable, but who knows if she'd ever start to come around or if she just goes the quiet crazy or what happens...

I'm glad you liked the fic! Thank you for the very nice review :)

Aw, this was a great fic! I love how you showed that even though they accomplished something great, they're still tired. Mai and Ty Lee's reunion is my favorite part of this, but even my favorite part is hard to pin down. I love how you described Azula, and how Avatar Roku gave Aang that little boost of encouragement when the other Avatars didn't. And Sokka and Katara's reunion; melt my heart, why don'tcha. Lovely fic. :D

Mai and Ty Lee were actually the last ones I wrote, like, totally at the last minute about an hour and a half before I sent it off to beta - I'm glad you liked that section. Their friendship has an interesting dynamic, and I always want to figure out how much of it is genuine, real care for each other and how much of it is being thrown together by Azula.

Anyway I'm really glad you enjoyed the fic - thank you for reviewing!

So we liked it right? It didn't read stale after sitting out all night or anything?
