On Tuesday we went to Canterbury Cathedral. A beautiful, spiritual place and looking forward to the calm of the environment. What a shame it was GREATLY marred by those wandering around taking numerous loud flashing photographs and showing no respect for a religious place at all

You should see Notre Dame - they were having a service when we visited and the way people behaved - especially the americans was simply appalling!

Yes, I can imagine. There was the hourly prayer (multi denominational) at Canterbury and even then they showed not a sign of even slowing down. I was simply jostled and surrounded by a group of tourists and Jim gave up and moved away. Oh well. Thank goodness we live in our peacefull villages :-)
