Here's the poem Brendan wrote for Valentine's day, which I think is so good it deserves public notice (sorry kid, but it's all about art

Yes it's sad isn't it... I don't think he'll really be appreciated till he's at Uni and the ages even out a bit. Till then he's a romantic 23-year-old dreamer in the body of a nerdy little 13-year-old. I remember. I was a poet too at that age but probably not that good - and I never had the nerve to show anybody.
Uh, hi... you probably don't know me, but I'm a friend of Jem and Ben and Rosie's at Fort Street, and I met you at the Orange Grove Markets once with my mom. When we were in Year 8....I think.
Anyway, I would just like to say that that poem is absolutely BRILLIANT (linked via Rosie). Also, to say that if you (or Brendan) want membership to our (me and Ben's) poetic community where we and others post up our stuff for the rest to evaluate, the position is YOURS. And I hope I haven't been too presumptous, because I just re-read this comment, and it sounds really arrogant to me, but I'm too tired to figure out another way to write it.
Oh, thanks! No, you didn't sound arrogant at all. I hope Brendan isn't cross with me for posting the poem but I think it's brilliant too and I just wanted people to read it who would appreciate it.
I am most flattered to be invited to your online community & would like to join but I haven't written much myself lately - I suppose I could post some old stuff and maybe it would get me writing again? I would love it if Brendan would join too but not sure if it's his sort of thing - I'll ask him.
What's the address?
Thanks for the compliments but they belong to Brendan - I think he is a natural poet.
Yeah, old stuff, new stuff, red stuff, blue stuff, it's all ok, whatever tickles your fancy. However, as most (read: me and highbloodsugar ) of us post some dark stuff occasionally , take everything you see with a grain of salt.

But I don't think the girl was impressed. Or anyway Brendan hasn't heard from her.
He is just about 10 years too old for his age. That's all.
Then again I don't know many 23-year-olds who can write like that.

Brilliant poem, once again.
Oh, and my name is Chris.
